The Association of professional headshot photographers
I’m an approved member of APHP or for its full grand title: The Association of Professional Headshot Photographers. As one of the most experienced members, It’s really nice to have been invited to be a member of an association. It’s nice to be applauded from all sides of the profession. The acting profession and the photographic scene in the UK have changed enormously. It’s a good way of making sure that actors have the best service when it comes to getting headshots done, both drama students as well as the experienced actor.
What is APHP approved?
Being a member of the not only recognises the exemplary quality of my work as your actor headshot photographer but stands as a neutral testament to my expertise, a hallmark of quality that actors, agents, drama schools and casting professionals can rely upon.
APHP-Approved is a neutral hallmark of quality and expertise in a crowded marketplace. Wherever you see it, you can be sure of working with an APHP-qualified photographer who is fair, reliable and responsible, possessing the experience, skill and knowledge to provide you with the highest quality headshots.
Why Did The APHP Start?
For as long as there have been headshots, there have been headshot photographers. Usually working alone, acquiring expertise and knowledge slowly, keeping it to themselves. But a few years ago a group of us began to share our experiences, good and bad. We made a community where there had only been sole-practitioners, and found that we had similar ideas about what could improve the industry for photographers, actors, agents and drama schools. Just as the Casting Directors Guild or the PMA have brought standardisation, ethical norms, good practice and better communication to their fields of expertise, so will the Association.
